Are You Ready for the Future of Fundraising? Embracing the Evolving Landscape of Philanthropy

The horizon of philanthropy is illuminated with promise. In 2021, the U.S. witnessed an unprecedented surge in philanthropy, soaring past the remarkable milestone of half a trillion dollars in charitable giving. Notably, this generosity endures, even amid the turbulence of national and global economic fluctuations.

However, a closer examination of recent insights from Giving USA and the Chronicle of Philanthropy reveals a sobering prospect: the giving milestone achieved in 2021 may remain unbroken in the coming years, challenging the very foundations of major giving as we have come to understand it.

These emerging trends in philanthropy are further compounded by the impending wealth transfer and profound generational shifts in donor engagement and contribution preferences. Simply put, current donors who have a lot of money are giving it to younger donors, and these donors give in very different ways for very different reasons. This means the way we fundraise is going to change significantly, potentially setting off a transformational shift in philanthropy for the next half a century.

Are you curious about how giving is going to be different in the future? Are you prepared to embrace the dynamic future of philanthropy? Join us as we explore the shifting currents and chart a course for philanthropic innovation in a world primed for change.

Panel Session and Learning Objectives
(9:15am -  10:30am)

Our esteemed panelists will draw upon their extensive expertise in different areas, help us think creatively, and come up with new ideas for raising money, fostering a spirit of innovation and ingenuity among fundraisers of all backgrounds. Covering topics ranging from board engagement and succession planning to the cultivation of legacy and major gifts of assets, and delving into the art of donor engagement across different generations and the transformative potential of artificial intelligence (AI), participants can expect to:

  • Understand better what's happening in the world of fundraising.
  • Improve at finding new ways to raise money within your respective organizations.
  • Learn strategies to navigate the coming shifts in how people give.

Join us for an enriching and enlightening event that promises to elevate you to become a better fundraiser!

Sonia Saleh – Founder, Uplifting Nonprofits

When Sonia Saleh started Uplifting Nonprofits, it was a crazy mission to “save” the world. This desire hasn't changed, but the primary focus is bringing fundraising mastery to nonprofits so they can be successful in their important and valuable missions. Successful fundraising remains the number one challenge for most nonprofit Boards, so Sonia set out to transform that because she knows from personal experience that overcoming fundraising blocks and struggles is not only possible, but achievable.

Sonia offers her knowledge and experience from working in both the for-profit and not-for-profit worlds when teaching The Art of Fundraising to Nonprofit Executives and Board Members. Through another. specialty course, Unleash Your Inner Fundraiser, about accessing new thinking with brain science and unlocking the mysteries of fundraising, Sonia guides her clients to double their fundraising results while becoming comfortable and confident in their own voice.

Beyond her love of supporting nonprofits, Sonia is a diverse person with diverse interests. She hails from a multicultural background and speaks 3 languages (Arabic, French, and English) so she brings diverse perspectives and cultures to the table. She loves to travel and eat potato chips. She has been a member of Rotary for 10 years and is currently District Governor, engaging over 60 clubs with more than 1500 members in Long Island. She lives in New York but works with nonprofits all over the world.
